Affirmation School of Music delivers high quality, engaging and motivating learning experiences that cater for students of all ages and learning abilities. Tuition combines a love of both practical and theory-based elements to ensure students gain a thorough understanding of notation, dynamics, rhythm and musical language. Learning experiences combine fun and enjoyment with mathematics, music games and student interaction. Affirmation School of Music sets realistic learning intentions and achievable success criteria, ensuring students develop a desire and passion for music tuition. We provide a positive safe and encouraging learning environment that promotes self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. All music enrichment sessions are linked to The Early Years Learning Framework.

Students are consistently provided with opportunities to participate in hands on learning encounters which incorporate moving to music, playing instruments and music appreciation. These learning experiences expose students, in time, to musical language, notation, rhythm, pitch and dynamics.

Students, accompanied by the keyboard will sing a variety of children songs including, Baby Shark, On top of Spaghetti, Hot Potato, Rock–A–Bye Your Bear, Old MacDonald had a Farm, Mr. Clickety Cane as well as numerous others.

Students will be exposed to various musical symbols including, notes and rests (crotchets, minims and semibreves) time signatures, bar lines, staff or staves, treble and bass clefs and double bar lines.

Students will learn to correctly count bars and music and identify the values of notes which will also help improve their counting skills.

All students will develop an appreciation of music whilst moving to various beats. Students will learn to clap, stamp, march, perform various locomotor and non- locomotor movements as well as play various percussion instruments in time to various types of music.

Students will use a range of music symbols and notation to play various percussion instruments to perform simple pieces of music, developing their rhythm, timing and musical knowledge.

Students will be exposed to dynamics and pitch and learn the difference between high and low, and loud and soft sounds exposing them to greater awareness of musical concepts.

Lessons incorporate other Key Learning Areas including Literacy and Numeracy to further develop student learning. For example, Big Books will be used to expose students to various percussion instruments including triangles, castanets, tambourines, wooden scraper blocks, rhythm sticks and bells. Students learn to use these instruments to retell the story, build tension and represent the various characters within age-appropriate texts.

Music Enrichment Sessions Information:

Sessions are:

·         30 minutes in length

·         Cater for up to a maximum of 10 students per session.

·         Include an additional set up and pack up fee.

1 Session $140: Includes 30 minutes of tuition and 30 minutes set up and pack up.

2 Sessions on the same occasion: $210: Includes two by 30 minutes of tuition and 30 minutes set up and pack up.

3 Sessions on the same occasion: $280: Includes three by 30 minutes of tuition and 30 minutes set up and pack up.

4 Sessions on the same occasion: $350: Includes four by 30 minutes of tuition and 30 minutes set up and pack up.
