Terms and Conditions:

FEES

All “one on one” lessons are available in 30 and 60 minute sessions.

All “group” lessons are available in 40 minute sessions.

Private Tuition: 30 minute lessons are suited for beginner students who are ready to take their music tuition a little more seriously. 60 minute sessions are more suited to intermediate and upper level students and for those seeking to complete grades through the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB).

Dual Tuition: 30 minute lessons are perfect for beginners who are comfortable with learning with another student to build confidence when performing in front of others.

Group Tuition: 40 minute lessons which are perfect for beginning students. These learning experiences promote self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence.

Timetables run 5 days a week and may vary according to the teacher’s availability and appointed days at various establishments.

Group Lessons

40 min Lesson: $280 per Term: 10 lessons ( Available at Lake Cathie Community Centre)

Dual Lessons: $350 per Term: 10 Lessons (Available at NVCCS)

Private One to One Lessons:

30 min Lesson: $450 per Term: 10 Lessons

60 min Lesson:  $850 per Term: 10 Lessons

NB.

1. First term students that pay in advance for private tuition will be given a discount and only be obligated to pay for 9 out of the 10 lessons. This discount is only eligible for the first term of music tuition, to students participating in private tuition. It is not applicable to students already receiving a discount or special offer under the normal tuition rates as stated above.

2. Once you have commenced tuition you are obligated to complete the term. No refunds or cancellations during the term will be given. (See Invoicing for further details)

3. All lessons are payable in advance for the upcoming term. If termly tuition is not paid in advance, students will lose their allocated time and it will be given to other applicants. 

MATERIALS

All lessons will require materials as recommended by your tutor; this may vary according to the ability of the student.

All students participating in group tuition are to bring along a set of headphones to weekly lessons. Any pair of headphones with a 1/4” stereo phone plug is suitable. 

Here at Affirmation School of Music, students can purchase one of two readymade music packs based on their musical ability.

1) Affirmation School of Music “Start Up” music pack contains; John Thompson’s Easiest Piano Course Part One booklet, a plastic document wallet and a pencil case filled with appropriate stationary to accompany student learning.

2) Affirmation School of Music “A Little Prior Experience” music pack contains; John Thompson’s Teaching Little Fingers to Play booklet, a plastic document wallet and a pencil case filled with appropriate stationary to accompany student learning.

These packs are available for purchase from Affirmation School of Music for $20 each.

If other tuition items are required they will be ordered for the student through Affirmation School of Music and can be bought at the purchased price.

It is recommended that students purchase their own keyboards to consolidate weekly concepts taught.  

INVOICING

Invoicing will occur via email for the term and fees are to be paid a week prior to the commencement of the term. If money is not received in full by the due date, students will lose their position to another applicant.

Payments can be made via Cash, Cheque, Credit Card (Visa and Mastercard only) EFTPOS or Direct Debit. For the latter please state the students name and invoice number when completing transaction.

Once students have commenced they are obligated to complete the term. No refunds or cancellations during the 10 week term will be given. 

 ATTENDANCE

There are no makeup lessons or refunds available for cancellations or non-attendance.

Lesson are to be paid for in advance to reserve a regular time on the teachers schedule. Unlike other professions we cannot resell that time.

Should a teacher be unavailable, a replacement teacher will be provided. If you choose not to peruse this option this lesson will be refunded. Should no replacement be available, your account next term will be adjusted accordingly.

Teachers are to be always treated respectfully. It is the responsibility of the student to follow the instructions of the teacher at all times. 

If a student is displaying inappropriate behaviours (such as swearing, refusing to follow instructions, acts of violence and any other behaviours deemed unacceptable by the teacher) they will be given a warning, if they are a child the incident will be reported to parents. If student behaviour does not improve as a result of this intercession in future learning experiences, the student will lose their lesson spot and no refund will be given.

ENROLMENT

Enrolment forms are available online. Once received, a suitable time will be allocated for the student

Any changes to contact details or medical conditions must be immediately notified to Kurt@affirmationschoolofmusic.com.au

Scheduling follows the New South Wales Primary Public School Terms. All public holidays are observed, however pupil free days are deemed as normal teaching days.

Lessons are conducted by qualified teachers in their field.

Private Tuition: While students enrol by the term, it’s possible to commence at any time during that term. In this instance billing will be on a pro rata basis of that term.

Group Tuition: While students enrol by the term, it’s impossible to commence after week 3 during that term. This is due to content missed.

GENERAL

If a parent or guardian wishes to speak to a teacher about tuition, they are to send an email to Kurt@affirmationschoolofmusic or call 0411 423 278 to request a suitable time to discuss the matter at hand. Teachers are not permitted to interrupt learning time to discuss any concerns.

Teachers are in charge of tuition and do not require direction from any third parties whilst implementing lessons. Parents are to wait outside during tuition unless invited in by teacher under special circumstances. 

No Food or Drink is allowed in the studios or waiting room.

All breakages or damage to Affirmation School of Music (ASOM) property must be paid for.

ASOM does not take responsibility for any person/s who attend the school while they are not in lessons.

ASOM Reserves the right to Photography, film and audio recording students within lessons or performance for educational and promotional purposes. The latter with parental permission.

All data collected remains the property of ASOM and will not be sold on to a third party.
